| From: JK Sinrod Message: Ah yes 2915 W 24th St. Down the long alley with the garbage cans. Next door to the Kellener boys. Many a hot summer night I would lay in a pool of sweat listening to youze guys singing on the corner. I'm Jordan K. Sinrod, but because of Jordy Kellener, they called me Kim. I was a few years younger than you and had 2 older brothers, Barry and Gene. Let's see... Sandy Cohen, Larry Fisher, were more your age I think? Your crowd was a pretty rough one. We thought you were more gangsters than singers, but you never gave us any trouble. That was Billy Bungalow, and Billy Harts department. They beat us up and tortured us for years. I remember the times you would join us for johnny-on-the pony and such. We idolized you older guys. Joey Edel was like James Cagney. When we saw him coming, we'd cross the street! LOL Anyways, you should check out my old Coney stories at www.MyConeyIslandMemories.com I think you'll enjoy it. Be well old friend. |

Message: Hi Teddy. I just wanted to say that you with the Concords is probably the best choice they ever could have made. Down the Aisle of Love is my fav! I sing (somewhat), and I really want to get a group going. I really try and try and try my hardest to sound like you on Down the Aisle of Love. I've never heard a voice like that before, pure heaven!!!! It's just been on repeat! PS: I'm one of the young' ones, Barely 21. But this is the only kind of music I like. The 50s Vocal Group sound is my favorite and I think it's the greatest music ever recorded.

| From: ernie schulz Raised in the Bristol, Pa. area I spent my teen years listening to WTTM Trenton radio, The Ron Diamond Show. He would without fail begin his introduction of a particular song as "this is what I consider the greatest stomp song ever recorded". This was the signal for all of us hanging in the McDonalds parking lot to gather up as Should I cry blared out of every hot rod illegaly backed into the parking spaces. Ron Diamond left for California in the late 60's I believe but before he left he sold 8 track recordings of of his last show of which I bought one. A few years later my car was broken into and all my tapes stolen. I searched in vain for a replacement and then found an original 45 of Should I Cry in a record store in Trenton. It was in a specially made wood box with glass top and was being sold for 45$ which may as well have been 45000 to me in those days. My search for should I cry became futile but the song never left my memory banks and I talked about it to anyone when oldies became the subject of conversation. Move to the late nineties and during a conversation with a group of people a man said to me "I got It". He had the 8 track of the last show and the ability to convert it to cassette which he did for me and I promptly had it put on disk. The world was now proper and I could attempt to stomp any time I choose to the greatest stomp record ever recorded. Now thru the power of the internet I was able to buy a Epic records disk of oldies with Should I Cry and Our Wedding Day. Also using the internet I have learned much about The Concords and the accomplishments of Teddy Grable and that fantastic falsetto. I believe every one has a song that rides down lifes highway... |
From: Mark Young Teddy; Just wanted to drop you a note to say "hi" and tell you how much I enjoyed listening to you all night at Rick "The Rocket" Hanson's annual birthday bash last night. Everyone who knows me, knows it's hard to find me drinking more than a couple beers on an evening...well...last night, your music captivated me and I found myself riding home in the back seat of my wife's car! Nothing like really good music performed by someone who is so truly talented and I feel so fortunate to have been there to listen to you. I have spoken with a few of my neighbors and IF we can come together on a date and it is a date you are open, I would be thrilled to have you perform on my deck this fall. Keep on Rockin' Teddy...and I hope you stay in Nebraska a long time! |
| From: Mike Lewis Message: My son saw you're web page and sent me the link...Man, it's been a long long time...I'm still doing music...writing and recording and playing out (I play piano now). My wife for the last 13 years is a great singer and we are a duo, but we record with top musicians thanks to our current producer who is one of LA's top engineers...Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, Rhianna ect. He has his own studio.....I live in Santa Monica, California.... I lost touch with Shelley Weiss a while ago (about ten years or so). My wife knew him as well, and we are very sorry to hear he died. I learned about it on your sight, from good old Diskin....Anyway, I looked at your sight and pictures and I'm so happy that you are still singing and making music, unlike the rest of the Concords. You are a great singer with a great voice and were the best the Concords ever had. Where do you live now? Do you ever come to LA? Stay in touch................Mike |
| From: Rockin' Roger Suggs Message: Teddy, it has been along time, my friend. So, what have you been up to? Rita and I live in Schertz, Texas. Schertz is just northeast of San Antonio off of I-35. I am 45 miles south of Austin (music city). I am retired from the Post Office going on 6 years. I now play one man Gigs just my guitar and I. Rock-a-Billy is my speciality. Plus Old School music. I sang with the Members of the Ace in the Hole Band. George Strait's guys. A bunch of other bands, too. I still see Bo and Pat every year. I visit my Mom once a year in Clearwater. She is now 87 years old and doing great. Send me your contact info, please.
Let me hear from you soon. Your Bro, Love ya man, Rockin' Roger |
From: Linda Jackson Message: I agree with Michele about Anthony's Wed. night. You were awesome. You brought everyone to their feet when you sang "O Holy Night" |
From: Michele Jackson Message: Hi Teddy, I just wanted to say at Anthony's last night what a tremendous song you sang by Roy Orbison. It was absolutely wonderful.

From: Bobby Diskin Message:
Good talking to you last night. Wanted to tell you that Shelly Weiss died in 2005. Also if you go on You Tube enter Doowop Five Discs and enter Doowop Quotations (you must include Doowop to filter out a lot of other stuff). If you just enter Doowop by itself you'll also see thousands of videos. Enter Doowop Dion Belmonts and you'll find the full clip of the group doing I wonder Why on American Bandstand. You might get some ideas for your website by looking at Mark Del Costello's (my partner) Black Swan Society site. Google Mike Lewis Concords and anything else you think of and see what you find.
Enjoy, Bobby

From: Marilynn Hanson Message: Hi Teddy....I just left Rookies, and I tried to wait until you took another break, but you didn't. I wanted to say goodbye, and tell you that I so enjoyed the evening. Since I heard you several months ago at Ozone I had you on my mind. I wanted to hear you sing without the Johnny Ray Gomez group. And I was not disappointed. You have such a voice, such a presence, and I love the music. You fill my soul....you have a God given gift, one that I wish I had. I always say if I could have asked God for one gift...it would be to sing....and you have that gift. Of course the music you sing is "mine", my era, my time....and every song means something, a memory. Music is the history of our lives......thanks for a wonderful couple of hours. Maybe I can get my friend again to go to the Ozone and see you....but if not I'll try to come back to Rookies again in the future. Thanks for a great night! Marilynn

From: Dale Bruce Message: Hi Teddy
Remember us, from Columbus. This is a great web site. I was trying to find a music video of "People Get Ready". After listening to about a dozen different artists do it, there is no doubt that you do it better than ever. Hope to see you many time again. We always enjoy it!

From: Steve Loson Message: Hi Ted, just reconnected and went to see Pat and Bo at a club. I was the Tarpon Springs police officer back in '81, when I sang with you once as backup at the Brass Rail. Here is a magic word to help you remember me by: you had a girlfriend Georgette, and you caller Lamouche. Hope to hear from you. Steve |
From: Chris Laughlin Message: Hey Big G: Just wanted to say Wednesday nite at the Ozone was awesome. Johnny Ray Gomez was his usual entertaining self and it was of course packed at the Ozone by 5:30 with no tables or seats. Sunday August 9th at the Dog House is your last time in Waterloo, for this year and by the sounds of it, you may have a nice crowd coming. Friday August 14th I am hoping to have something put together with your videos before your show at Rookies that nite. Gonna be some awesome and big burgers that nite too. Great Show again Teddy One of My Best Friends. Your Body Guard, Secretary and favorite pole dancer, Chris

From: Chris Laughlin Message: Just wanted to say another great, fun night at Rookies last night. Lots of energy and fun. The Staff at Rookies is the BEST... Bartenders are fantastic, waitress did a great job and kept the people very happy. The cook did a wonderful job on all the food orders and Sean (Rookies co-owner) out visiting with the customers, and taking time with them was very awesome and recieved many wonderful compliments on what a wonderful place he has there. The customers seem so happy to come there and hear Teddy sing. How effective and friendly the staff is sure makes a difference. Looking forward to Teddy coming back September 11th and October 2nd to Rookies. Great job Teddy and to all of the staff at Rookies. The Secretary, slave woman, and pole dancer extraordinaire...
